Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: June 3, 2026
SelfHostSchool is operated by LearnWithHasan. Some of the links in our guides are affiliate links. This page explains what that means once, so we do not have to repeat it in every guide.
What an affiliate link is
When a guide points you to a product or service, often through a branded /go/
short link, that link is sometimes an affiliate link. If you sign up or buy through it, we
may earn a commission from the company. It does not change the price you pay. In some cases
you get a better deal than you would by going direct.
How we choose what to link
We link to tools because we use them, have tested them, or genuinely recommend them for the job. The commission never decides what goes in a guide. If a free or cheaper option is the right answer, we say so, even when there is nothing in it for us.
- We do not get paid to write a positive review.
- We do not bury better options to push a product that pays us.
- If we ever recommend something we have not used ourselves, we tell you.
Why this matters to us
Affiliate income helps keep the guides free to read. That only works if you can trust them. A recommendation you cannot trust is worth nothing to you and nothing to us, so the honest call is also the smart one. We would rather lose a commission than your trust.
Your choice
You never have to use our links. If you would rather not, go straight to the product's own site. The guide works exactly the same either way.
